Casting Call for “Hell on Wheels”

Hell on Wheels is coming to AMC and you can be sure that Blood will be spilled! When’s the last time you saw a good western? Well AMC has a new pilot appearing November 6th and it’s set in 1865, starring Anson Mount who is a former confederate soldier who is determined to seek revenge upon the union soldiers who murdered his wife. The show is being produced by Entertainment One and Nomadic Pictures.

The show is named after the Mobile city appropriately named “Hell on Wheels”, a lawless town that follows construction of the transcontinental railroad. A twist comes in the plot as the Cheyenne tribe soon attacks the town, they’re determined to destroy the project that is raping their lands.

The show features Anson Mount as Cullen Bohannon, Common as Elam Ferguson, Dominique McElligott as Lily Bell and more. The show recently finished up production of the two pilot episodes but has already received some rave reviews and looks like it’s very likely that the show will be picked up for a whole season. The casting directors will be seeking extras of all ethnicity’s and ages who can imitate Cowboys, Native Americans and all social classes from the mid 1800′s. Casting directors will be accepting submissions from talent all through filming of the show. Looking to book extras and some lead roles depending on your experience and availability. You do not have to be a SAG actor for this project. Please bring your comp card or headshot with you to auditions. Good luck!

  • Madison Freeman says:

I have an easy time adapting to any given character, and have always wanted to be part of a show that takes place in a specific period. I never over-act and I pay extreme attention to detail, appreciating authenticity in highly stylized film work. I have good perspective in regards to how I come off on camera. At 20, I’m a charismatic and hard-working student with a strong desire to use the acting experience I have.

  • Thank you for your consideration. I landed my first acting job in the war movie the bunker starring Ken Shamrock. My last role is a small part in the new Terrence Malick film. In both movies I act along side my brother. Both of us are burn victims and directors seem to love the grittiness we add to the scene and the fact that there are 2 of us always makes an impact. There are a number of ways that you can play off this scenario so I hope that you take a lot of time considering those possibilities. I apologize for the unprofessional headshot but I felt it was important for you to see what I look like. We were originally supposed to be only background but when Terrance saw us he immediately added us in the scene. You can See more pictures of me on my Facebook page (Leo Vendedda) And if compelled to go deeper you can see pictures of my brother on his Facebook page (Deuce Wayne). Thank you again for your consideration and hope to hear back from you soon.

I’m also a huge fan of the show, not to mention every other AMC show. Also, I live in Calgary so I’m not far away.

To date I have received three professional film credits one of which was an Actor role on the hit television series “The Killing” where I had the pleasure to act with and learn from the series lead Joel Kinnaman.

I can ride, shoot, play dead, be a passed out drunk in the street or a cold hearted killer or a village idiot or dapper fop.
I am an old west re enactor… Guns of the Golden West (Calgary AB) and belong to the Alberta frontier Shootists (live ammo) shooting association affiliated with the mother ship organization SASS in the U.S.A.

Love the show, on of the best westerns in my life time. Pay is not the issue, the excitement, to learn and to be privileged to see how much hard work it takes to act and produce a quality as close to real life on the frontier western is exciting. This one will be history in the making.
